1 . Lift up tfe vehicle about 3O cm (12'') above
the floor and place blocks under _t near the
jacking po_ints.
2. Apply a lifting device under the engine moun-
tings. N B. Do not lift on the w8ter pump.
Unscrew the nuts for the front engine mount-
ing pads from below. Lift the engine as high
as possibIe without pinch_ng anyth_ing on tfe
scuttle and allow it to hang on pulley blocks,
a worksfop hoist, an engine lifter or similar.
_ 3. Place a jack under the front member. Slack8n

Replo_ing the thermostot
_ 1. Drain off part of the cooling water.
2. Remove the bolts for fhe outlet pipe over the
thermostat and turn up the pipe.
_ 3. Replace the thermostat (1, Fig. 32). Use a new
. gasket. Check the valve on the under8ide of
the thermostat by pressing in and rele8sing the
_ spring-loaded valve disc.
4. Screw the pipe in position Fitl w'ith water 8nd
check for leakage.
